Louisiana Constituents for Safe Childbirth

Committees are a great way to get involved and work with other like-minded individuals.

Meet your LCSC Committee Chairs!

Education is the primary focus of Louisiana Constituents for Safe Childbirth. We believe that maternal and fetal outcomes will improve in Louisiana with education to consumers. We provide monthly prenatal meetings in our chapters and post information via social media. We hope to develop our services and do more.

Sarah Jarrell

Sarah Jarrell is a mother of two ages 5 and 4. She teaches homeschooling and birthing classes, and loves anything to do with pregnancy, labor, and birth. She is a doula, certified lactation consultant and currently attending Frontier Nursing University to be a Nurse-Midwife! She is passionate about improving pregnancy and birth in Louisiana and beyond, and excited to be a part of LCSC as the chair of the education committee! Her hobbies right now include learning more about essential oils, reading any book she can get her hands on, and eating as much fried and grilled summer food from her garden as possible. Sarah is a fitness junkie and recently recovering crossfit addict….since she moved too far away from the gym and can’t attend anymore. Her future goal is to open a birthing center in Leesville, LA.

We believe that consumers should have options regarding their care providers and birth places. There is a lot to do before this is a viable possibility for more consumers. Midwives  do not have the financial backing that physicians do to make change. This is why consumers need to make their voices heard!
